The seasonal collage series at The Market at Edna starts with Hoshigaki, the Japanese tradition of hand-drying persimmons, which the chefs at The Restaurant at Edna have hanging throughout the restaurant. Local fine artist Kayla King guides you through every step, working from a still life of fresh persimmons with papers she's hand-painted in custom colors for this piece.
Workshop ends in time to catch a late dinner reservation at The Restaurant at Edna so you can experience the Hoshigaki hanging from the ceiling during this festive season.
No experience is needed, and you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece ready to frame. Wine, materials, and instruction are included. Ticket price includes 20% off all items in the market the evening of the event!
Inspired by California's coastlines, artist Kayla King creates expressive landscapes that explore memory, place, and our connection to the natural world. Join Kayla at Edna for a special evening creating a composition and perspective in collage.
